My name is Shane. I'm a piano teacher who has just moved out to Los Angeles from Eugene Oregon. I'm 24 years old, and have been teaching for over five years and playing piano for twenty years. I currently teach in Encino, Northridge, Granada Hills, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Pacific Palisades. I have a few a openings for new students. Here are some quick facts about me.
I grew up in Eugene Oregon and attended the University of Oregon with a focus in Piano Pedagogy. I play classical, rock, blues, and ragtime primarily (although I do dabble in Jazz.) While I have experience teaching students of all ages, I specialize in tutoring adult students. There are a number of unique challenges and advantages that the adult piano student encounters as opposed to a child learner. Because so few piano methods adequately address these differences, I've decided to focus in this area. My basic philosophy is to observe the student and to craft an individual musical curriculum unique to you based on your strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Feel free to give me a call for rates, more info, or to set up an evaluation for lessons. This is free and usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Students usually come to my studio to learn, but I offer in home lessons as well. You can also check out my website below for more information on my philosophy and teaching method. Thanks and have a great day!
