If you need help with the math you need to know for the standardized admissions tests like the GRE, GMAT, and SAT, or for your kids' or your math, algebra, geometry and statistics courses, I can help you understand what you need to...
I'll work with you to make sure the math clicks with you, and you understand the logic and reasoning process involved in math. In my experience people who've had trouble with math often have had teachers who weren't good at explaining how to do math, or went too fast; we'll go through it step-by-step to make sure you understand each step and why you're doing it, to go from the info you're given through to the answer you're looking for.
As for price, I can tutor you individually for about the same hourly rate as you'd pay for a test-prep company group session, and a lot less than you'd pay at a tutoring agency. I also do online tutoring at a lower rate than in person tutoring. If I'm working with a student I want to make sure you can afford to study the amount you need to to achieve your goal, so I lower my rates for regular students.
I have a BA from Tufts in economics and got an 800 on the SAT math section and several diagnostic tests for the GRE and GMAT that I've taken for the test-prep classes I taught; I've taught test-prep classes at Baruch college for Cambridge Educational Services, and tutored algebra and geometry at Harlem Village Academy, one of the top charter schools in the city, as well as tutoring many private students for the math portions of the standardized tests, and K-12 and college math courses.
Hope we can start working toward your higher score and better understanding of math soon.
Thanks for reading, and look forward to speaking with you.
