My name is Tanner Elias, I am a 20-year-old music teacher with ten years of experience playing guitar, and fourteen years of experience learning music in other forms. I have a comprehensive understanding of music theory, chords, and scales. I've been giving lessons for the past four years and have had dozens of students. I am currently a student at the University of Oklahoma. I moved here from Tulsa a couple years ago, where I had spent several years giving guitar lessons. Giving music lessons is the only job I've ever had, and I love it. I am a very patient teacher that can adapt to different skill levels and I understand that not everyone is the same. Most guitar teachers choose to teach their students out of a 50+ year old book, containing songs like "Kumbaya My Lord" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb." It's no wonder so many people give up on trying to play guitar after taking lessons for a short amount of time. I realize that people don't decide to learn guitar because they want to be able to play "Yankee Doodle." Instead, I let my students tell me what music they listen to and would like to be able to play, and I teach them songs that they already enjoy listening to and will actually enjoy playing. Playing guitar shouldn't feel like a chore, it should be something that you do because it's fun. While the standard price for lessons is $20 per half-hour and $40 per hour, I offer lessons for only $15 for a half hour or $30 for an hour. Not only are my lessons cheaper, but you save time and money by not having to drive anywhere. Parents who want lessons for their children have to spend 30 minutes to an hour just waiting around during the lessons, in addition to the time spent driving. With me, you don't have to move a muscle. I'm also very flexible and have no problem with changing the day or time of a lesson if something comes up. I also do not charge you if you cancel a lesson, as long as you let me know the day before. Even if you cancel on the day of the lesson, I only ask for half of the pay. Most teachers do not do this, and will charge you full price for a cancelled lesson no matter what. I give lessons in the cities surrounding Norman. However, in these cities I generally only offer hour long lessons that are $35. I will drive as far as Oklahoma City. If you're not sure if you live too far away, just let me know and we can probably work something out. Let me know if you're interested and we can set up a day and time.
