We teach riding the old way. Riding is about your hands, and your seat, and your legs, but more than anything it's about trust and communication. It's pretty easy to sit on a horse and trot around an arena, but there's a big difference between that and riding. Riding is a partnership that starts with a bond between a human and a horse. Dogs and cats come into your world, they eat your food, they lie on the bed, they ride in the car. Horses are different; you have to go into their world.
At Red Horse we offer lessons that begin in a round corral, expand to a five acre pasture, graduate into rides along the ditch and into the Rio Grande Bosque, and end with day and overnight rides in the National Forest. There is indeed life outside the arena.
Individual riding lessons using our horses, as well as lessons for horse owners using their own.
