Hi, My name is Matt Carlyle and I am an Instructional Coach for Orange County Public Schools. I attended East Carolina University for undergrad and graduate school. I majored in K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Reading Education and I also have masters degrees in K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Mathematics. Prior to moving to Orlando last year, I was in Raleigh, NC. I have experience teaching various grades Kindergarten to Middle School, have experiences as a prior Magnet Schools Coordinator in Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, NC, STEM Coach, Part-Time Writing Coach at a Chinese immersion Saturday day school, and part-time literacy methods adjunct professor at William Peace University in Raleigh, and much more. In Raleigh, I tutored about 8 students a week, some of which remained with me for almost the entire five years that I was tutoring. I have taken a year off since relocating to Florida and transitioning to a new State and District, but I am looking to build back up to about 4-5 students. I am highly qualified and my rates are somewhat variable depending on your location, if you're willing to meet me at a local library (Downtown is close) or in my home. Typically, I charge $30/hr for in-home tutoring (office space with materials and no distractions) $33/hr if if you're in the Mills-50 or Colonial Town area $37/hr for the local downtown library Negotiable for 90-minute sessions $2 off a session if paid for each month at the beginning of the month (first session of the month) and the rest is TBD depending on your location and if travel time needs to be added I am qualified and I am more than happy to offer a free initial session to interview with you and meet your student. What the process is like? My first session with the student is to deliver a grade appropriate pre-test in reading, math, or both (depending on the students' need). The parents should bring recent student work samples to that session as well. I will also give you a letter to complete and sign to give to the child's teacher granting them permission to reach out to me so that we can connect and have ongoing conversations to ensure that your child has much success with the skills and concepts that they're struggling with. My current availability is 5-6pm and 6-7pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. I look forward to hearing from you and working with your child. Please feel free to call me. Matt Carlyle
