I eventually started winning those contests you hear on the radio...concert and movie tickets, trips, album collections, dinners, you name it. I was constantly going to the radio stations to pick up the prizes. I began to hangout and watch the DJ's on the air and was really fascinated with them. "What a cool job!" I would always say.
