About
Clean, safe, nurturing horse boarding in new barn with tack room. Horses are turned out daily on 2-acre pasture if weather permits, and stalled (12' x 12') every night with runouts. Stalls have rubber mats and bedding is changed often. Horses are fed and watered 10 gallons of fresh water twice daily, and stalls are cleaned twice daily. Large and small grazing pastures where horses can be separated if necessary. We buy high quality alfalfa/grass mixture to feed our own horses as well.
You provide grain (if you choose) and we will feed once or twice daily to your specifications. We treat our boarded horses as our own; they get lots of love and attention. We keep only four horses in the barn and two are ours. We prefer mares (our two are mares) to minimize the drama, but we currently board a large gelding named Pickle who is a gentle giant.
We love college students! Pickle's "person" is a UIUC veterinary medicine student and very handy to have around if you have questions or concerns. Our farrier comes every 6 weeks and is very reasonable and experienced. We also arrange an annual visit from the equine dentist. We can even get you on our vet's schedule for vaccinations if you'd like.
