The UPTOWN STRING BAND is one of the regular top-10 string bands in the annual Philadelphia Mummers Parade. The band is available for bookings from small groups of 8 up to 25+ musicians in fancy sequined Mummers costumes. The band performances include parades, concerts, festivals, business events, and parties including wedding receptions.
Uptown is located in lower Bucks County PA, just minutes from northeast Philadelphia, eastern MontCo, I-95, Route-1, and the NE Philly (Bensalem) PA Turnpike exit. Uptown members include both men and women, young and old. The band is always looking for new members, banjo, saxophone, accordion, string bass, drums, bells, violin. Several members were originally guitar and brass musicians who play other instruments to become a part of a 110+ year tradition! The band rehearses every Tuesday evening at 8:15. Get a first class Mummers experience, don't settle for less!
