I was a professional bicycle mechanic for over 9 years throughout undergraduate and graduate college. I have a regular job, but am willing to repair/tune a few bikes a week during the evenings or weekends. I decided to start turning wrenches again after a trip to a shop to pick up parts for my kid's bike and saw they charge $60 for a tune up that does not even include removing the wheels. If you want the wheels removed for truing and hub adjustment, they charge $100 and call it a "Pro Tune".
I charge around $30 for a complete tune. I am not trying to get rich on bike repair, just make a few extra dollars to fund some of my hobbies, while providing a beneficial service for other folks that live in the area. I can perform almost any repair or replacement on a bike and have a decent used part surplus. I have literally repaired and built tens of thousands of bikes. Call Matt
