As a teacher, it is not only mastering the piano that is important, but also understanding how people learn get motivated best. While everyone is different, I show my students techniques that professionals use to progress with ease. The results are that students have a balance of productive immediate engagement and long term enjoyment (which is acheived by practicing with clarity, the right methods, and the right expectations). Lesson time will be highly useful and you will go home having continuous achievements and clear instructions. I work to have students create truly rewarding music.

Piano and music are even more than correct notes and landmark performances. In detail, they are also learning a new language in which you can develop intuition and explore your own creativity, as well as the beauty and creativity of composers, songwriters, and performers, enriching life significantly.

INFO
- I teach Classical, as well as Pop, Jazz, and other genres (I also teach Song Writing).
- My rate is $45 per one hour lesson. Your first lesson is free.
- Lessons are one hour per week at 97th St and Broadway on a beautiful Steinway grand piano.
- I illuminate every step of the process.
- Technical things: some somewhat unique perspectives I teach (that I cannot guarantee you will get from other teachers) are voicing (the balance between notes), tone (different sounds for each note), specific movements of the fingers / wrists / elbows / shoulders, reasonable approaches to practicing, and how to develop and direct intuition. Along the way, you'll learn traditional music education topics naturally as you directly experience them through your playing (ear training, sight reading, theory, etc) .
