Hi everyone! My name is Josh. I have been playing guitar for 20 years and I have a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Southwestern University. I love playing and I also love sharing my knowledge of the guitar. I teach quality private classical guitar lessons to beginner, intermediate and advanced guitar players. I am a patient teacher/person and know how to convey information effectively.

As a team, we will set your goals at the first lesson, maintain that focus and explore as your interest grows. I have one fantastic book that I teach with that begins with fundamental skills, always focuses on musicality and moves logically toward beautiful performance pieces. I also supplement with music from several other resources, from Sor to Villa-Lobos to Brouwer as well as pop song finger-style arrangements. We will look at varied repertory together, have a strong focus on technique and musicality, learn about theory as well as the history of different composers and performers. We will coordinate a lesson plan that will fit your schedule and accelerate your learning.

I want all of my students to have fun and excel to their full potential. Learning an instrument/music is such a fulfilling endeavor. Classical guitar is such a great discipline to learn and brings so much enjoyment into lives, whether it be for personal entertainment or moving towards a college program. I aim for quick, steady results and I recommend/expect a minimum of 3 separate 30 minute practice sessions each week. Very quickly that "practice" will turn into pure enjoyment!
