About

My name is Liz Jones. I started learning piano when I was 13 and fell in love with it. Two and a half years later I went to college and became a piano major, I now have a degree in Music and Music Education and Piano Performance. I have performed in numerous concerts, recitals, operas, ensembles, and talent shows..Former S.A.L.T Galleries, where I received several awards, Best In Category, Overall Favorite Pianist, Audience Choice Award, and Certificate of Special Recognition. When I was 17, I taught piano at a summer camp and then started my own business (teaching) and have been doing it ever since. I have been playing piano for 11 years and teaching for 8. I am currently working on my own teaching series for piano called Liz's Lessons. 9 books out of the 15 book series has been published.

Why I Teach:

I teach piano for several reasons, the biggest reason is because I know that this Is my God given gift, to teach and play piano. I absolutely LOVE teaching and inspiring my students to be the best they can be. I strive to teach them everything I can about each particular song, scale, music theory, technique, etc. Eventually I plan on opening my own music studio first with only piano, and then expanding it to where I have different teachers for different instruments for one on one private lessons. Then I will open a certified music school where students can take group classes, (chorus, music theory, ensembles, etc) where students will not slip through cracks but receive the best musical knowledge that they can. This will also be a preparatory school for those who plan on going to college for music. THOSE are my hopes and aspirations.

How I Teach:

I teach two methods, traditional and non traditional. Traditional is piano method books, designed to teach the student to play piano by following a specific method. Nontraditional is teaching the student the basics of piano then catering towards the student's individuality and style of music as well as learning. I evaluate each student and then work with them to build and strengthen their skills, I teach beginner to advanced piano.

For privacy sake, you can contact me through email or cell and I will let you know where I teach at.
