My name is Nia Stevens and I am the founder of Prodigy Private Instruction, LLC. I have been a music teacher for nearly 12 years and have worked with children and adults of all ages, specializing in students with special needs such as Aspergers, dyslexia, AD(H)D and emotional and behavioral challenges.
I spent six years with the Junior Jammers Fiddling Group and Harmony Choral, and five with Music Theater of Idaho. I continued on to receive a BA in Music Theory and Composition from The College of Idaho. I can prepare students for both competition and performance, as well as college auditions.
I offer lessons on piano, viola, violin and voice out of my home in Caldwell. My colleague, Paula Tuckness, teaches voice, guitar, saxophone and beginner's piano and travels to you. We can both guide students through theory, songwriting, and college admission prep. Prodigy Private also offers academic tutoring and homeschool help. (See website for more details).
Lessons cost $40 per hour of instruction, with a 30-minute minimum when a student comes to me and a 60-minute minimum if the teacher travels to them. Discounts are also available for families, extended lessons, and monthly billing. Music is included. Travel fees are determined on a case by case basis.
Recommended lesson lengths vary depending on student age and experience. Lessons on more than one instrument are available.
