Apple Mint Julep
Designed at the Kentucky Derby, this example of the unique cocktails originates its name from Arabic and means “rosewater”. Its roots go back to Persia and then spread to Europe. Exactly there the main ingredient (rose water) was replaced with mint.
When you make the cocktail, ensure that you just bruise the mint leaves, not smash them. Only in this way you will receive bitter inner juice for the cocktail. It must be served ice cold.
- 2 oz. cinnamon and apple infused bourbon (can be replaced with rye whiskey, gin, Calvados, rum, applejack brandy)
- 1/2 oz. rock candy syrup
- 1/2 oz. fresh sweet and sour mix
- Club soda to your taste
- Fresh spearmint leaves
- Several slices of a red delicious apple for decor
Take rock candy syrup and muddle it with mint leaves. Put sliced red apple at the bottom of the mixing glass, and add syrup with mint. Then top it with ice, bourbon infusion, club soda, and with a sweet & sour mix. Very gently rock back and forth so that the ingredients combine but not mix up completely. Drop the cocktail into a glass, add additional ice if needed, and decorate with a mint sprig and apple slices.
The Champagne Cocktail was created by a legendary barman Jerry Thomas back in 1862. It was called “Chorus Girl’s Milk,” but today you are not likely to find this name anywhere. Most frequently unique cocktails of this recipe are called just Champagne Cocktail. The recipe below offers one of the most famous and delicious champagne based cocktails ever made.
- 3 oz. champagne
- ⅓ oz. cognac
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 cube of sugar
Take 2 dashes of Angostura bitter and add them into a champagne flute together with the sugar cube. Pour cognac into the glass and gently add chilled champagne. You can decorate the cocktail with a lemon twist or a strawberry over the top.
This cocktail is a combination of old traditions with modern trends. It originated and gained its popularity in San Francisco, but today it’s served all over the country. If you work in a hot place, then going green with this citrus-centric cocktail is definitely a winning strategy!
- 1 1/4 oz. green chartreuse
- 1/2 oz. velvet falernum (a rum-based drink with ginger, lime, cloves, and almonds flavor)
- 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. fresh pineapple juice
To serve this cocktail, you will need a Marco Dionysos’s tall glass. All you need is to fill two-thirds of the glass with crushed ice and then pour all ingredients together into it. Then take a swizzle stick and swizzle the cocktail. Add some more crushed ice on top and swizzle again. Serve with straws and lime on the glass. The odd combination of these ingredients makes this drink one of the most unique cocktails to drink on a romantic evening.
Valentine’s Chocolate Martini
Martini is one of those unique cocktails that are popular all over the world. But as you have a special occasion, you need to get creative in order to earn some extra tips.
