What you need:

  • 4 chicken breast halves (without skin and bones)
  • 3/4 cup of orange marmalade
  • 3/4 cup of sweet BBQ sauce
  • 2tbsp of soy sauce

How to make:

  1. Wash chicken breasts, place them into your crock pot and let it cook them for about 3 hours on high settings or 6 hours on low settings (depending on when you plant to serve it).
  2. After that time, open your crock pot and get rid of the chicken juices. You may also remove the chicken breasts from it and chop them into smaller pieces. Or, you may leave them as they are.
  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a medium bowl and pour them over the chicken.
  4. Set the crock pot on high and cook chicken with sauces for additional 30 minutes.

  3. Set your crock pot on ‘high’ and let it cook this goodness for about 6 hours total.
  4. Right after the 4,5-hour mark, grab a flat plate and 2 forks, open your crock pot, get the chicken out of it and use forks (or a fork and a knife) to tear it in pieces.
  5. Once that’s done, put your chicken back into the crock pot along with biscuit dough pieces and butter, close the crock pot’s lid and let it cook for another hour and 30 minutes.

Indian-style tomato and creme crock pot spice chicken (25 minutes to prepare, 5-8 hours in crock pot)

What you need:

  • 6 chicken legs
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup of tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup of cream
  • 1 pound of potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3tbsp of olive oil
  • 2tbsp of finely grated fresh ginger
  • 2tbsp of tomato paste
  • 2tsp of garam masala
  • 2tsp of ground turmeric
  • 2tsp of ground cumin
  • 1/2tsp of ground coriander
  • 1/2tsp of pepper
  • 3/4tsp of cardamom
  • salt (to your taste)
  • savory yogurt

How to make:

  1. Prepare your ingredients: wash chicken legs, dice onions, and garlic cloves, peel and slice potatoes.
  2. Take a thick-walled cooking pot and put chicken legs (with skin side down) into it. Fry them (without turning) for about 10 minutes till the skin turns golden.
  3. Grease your crock pot and place the chicken legs into it.
  4. Add diced onions, garlic, and ginger into the pot you’ve used to fry chicken leg and cook them on the stove until onions turn golden (for about 10 minutes). Don’t forget to stir every once in a while.
  5. Once your onions are golden, add tomato paste with the rest of the spices into the pot and keep it on the stove for another 4 minutes (keep on stirring).
  6. Turn the stove off, add the rest of the ingredients (apart from yogurt) into the pot, mix them together and transfer everything into the crock pot.
  7. Set the crock pot on low and cook for about 7-8 hours. Your dish will be ready once potatoes are soft and chicken meat is detached from the bones. If you don’t have that much time, set your crock pot on high and cook for about 5 hours.
  8. Once the dish is done, you may serve it on top of plain cooked rice or naan bread. Don’t forget to add some yogurt and mint (or parsley). Enjoy!
