As a hardwood flooring specialist I identify varieties of wood on sight, know the properties and eccentricities of each, and I am able to transform any type of wood flooring into a showroom-quality floor. Specializing in hardwood flooring requires basic carpentry skills; the capability to measure and cut precisely; and the ability to correctly use power saws, sanders, flooring nailer and hand tools correctly. As a specialist I have an in-depth understanding, not only of hardwoods, but also of the types of softwoods used in flooring, in addition to being able to install engineered hardwood flooring. Skill in matching and blending wood stain, and the ability to flawlessly finish unfinished flooring is imperative. As a hardwood flooring specialist my main task is to lay and finish the flooring and install the baseboard. Because the subflooring and the floor system below can affect the final product, as a good flooring specialist, I will check and ensure the structural integrity of the floor. If the subflooring is not adequate, as a specialist I will either install or repair the subflooring. During installation, as a specialist I will employ techniques to prevent squeaking which is common in some types of wood floors.

As floor care technician I am an expert in floor sanding and finishing. I take great pride in my work. I use tools such as a floor scraper and floor sanding machines.
