I would give zero stars if I could. The worst experience I have ever had with a moving company. I have used professional movers 4 times now and have many valuable that have made it through those moves unscathed. Not with this company. I had many broken items including irreplaceable items.
Additionally, they left items at the pick up house and said it was our fault. They also left garbage there which I was unaware of until I went back to get the items they left behind,
Premium Price for Sub Par service. Stay Away. Stay FAR away!!!
Unprofessional, Scammers, and Money-hungry Predators. Do NOT use this moving company. They tell you one price when booking the appointment and then when they arrive the price magically inflates. The appointment was originally for 8 am. They called that morning to tell me they couldn't make it until 6 pm, then called back to say they could make an earlier time, but with 3 men instead of 2, neglecting to tell me, at that point, that the price would significantly increase. When they got to me, told me a 1bedroom job with boxes would take SIX hours. Six hours? We were only driving 15 minutes to the drop-off. Every hour past 3 would increase by $110 instead of the $80 originally quoted.
They broke my lamp and told me it was already broken. They scratched my furniture. At the drop off they refused to unload the truck until I paid them in cash, literally sitting in the hallway on the floor until the cash exchanged hands.
Honestly this was the service I have ever experienced in my entire life of any type of business. Classic bait and switch- the price changed from the time they quoted to when they started moving the items. The employees were rude, slow, lazy and threatened my girlfriend during the move. Tito was the foreman for this job and he should not be employed by any company. The movers took frequent breaks on an hourly job and completed about 1/3 of the job in 4 hours before they packed up their truck and left without returning any money. This company should not be allowed to operate as a business. if I could leave 0 stars I would do not use this business under any circumstances they are complete frauds.
My choice to choose Johnny on the Move was because they were the least expensive on the list provided by Move Matcher. That was a HUGE mistake. They were scheduled to move me from 8am - 12pm. They arrived at 11:30am, citing a flat tire. We I expressed my concern about the late start and the fact that I reserved the elevator in my building from 8am -12pm, I was told I would still have to pay $80/hr for any time beyond 2hrs. To make matters worse, during the move they broke 3 lamps. When I asked will they pay for my lamps, I was reminded of the document I signed stating that I was only covered for .30 cents per pound. I also found several of my art pieces were damaged. When I called the company on Monday to express my disatisfaction, the phone was answered and I was asked my name. When I said my name the guy on the other end hung up the phone. I immediately called back and no one answered the phone.
The most unprofessional moving company my family and I have ever encountered. We advised we had a large 3 bedroom house when quoted at a rate of $719 for 3 men. When the guys arrived, they had a 20" standard truck. We called the owner he would not allow the means to make more than one trip advising it was too hot for them to do that type of labor alone he wanted to charge us an additional $1000. The movers broke my table in our grand total came to $919 with only a 3rd of our items being moved. We were then told that we need to just contact the insurance company for the broken marble table because that was not anything that he dealt with. This information coming directly from the owner. This was the most unprofessional service they were extremely rude after realizing that they misquoted us and we have no resolve. At this point we are just out of $919 now have to make plans to move the rest of our furniture.
