I am an experienced carpenter (was a licensed general contractor for 20 years, and have 35+ years experience in the trades) who is looking for a couple side projects to fill in while things are slow at my regular job. I am highly proficient at framing and finish, door hanging, stair cutting, roof cutting, cabinet installation, window installation, siding and trim, drywall hanging and taping. I also am completely capable at electrical and plumbing, and have a lot of experience installing tile (floors, counters, showers.) I am also very adept at real carpentry- building cabinets, windows, doors, custom millwork and fabrication/installation, etc. I prefer finish work but will definitely look at anything that comes my way, as long as it is a full day's work, preferably a full week's work.
I charge $40/hour, am highly proficient in most facets of the building trades, am clean, presentable, articulate, and get along well with people. I can provide references upon request. I also have an extra hand who works with me- he is also clean, proficient, and articulate and is very proficient in the trades, and works alongside me. A lot of the time we split up and I handle one part of a project, and he handles another with my guidance. He gets $25.00/hour
I rarely take on projects less than one day, and generally work from Chinatown to Hawaii Kai, and from Kaneohe to Waimanalo. I will travel anywhere on the island of Oahu, but sometimes may need to charge for driving if driving (both ways) takes up more than an hour of my day.
We just had a project reschedule, and so at the moment are available immediately.
Thanks and Aloha, Toby
