About

We want to bring lawncare into the 21st century taking advantage of technology and automation to make our lives easier, more cost-effective, and simpler. By letting our robots do the brunt of the work, we enrich people's lives and the environment.

Machine Mowers is a green-friendly automated lawncare company. We believe in automating lawncare by using state of the art technology. Our robots do most of the work, cutting the grass up to 7 days per week, while our humans can do more to make sure your yard looks great.

Machine Mowers offers you to buy or lease our autonomous robotic mowers. We install and set up our electric, quiet, eco-friendly robots to efficiently maintain your lawn. We can send our humans out to do minor trimming and edging where the machines cannot go to give your yard that extra special touch. There is no more need to sweat in the hot summer weather, or waste your precious weekend hours on the repetitive mundane task of cutting grass; let our robots do the work.

We offer many other services such as fertilization, weed-control, gutter cleaning, aeration, leaf cleaning and bagging, debris clean-up, and general landscaping labor. Whenever we have to use tools, we prefer using green-friendly, electric tools to do the job so we help mother Earth, our environment, and our homes.

We identify property to determine if we can service it

Satellite Assessment

We perform a satellite assessment to map out the property to determine an initial estimate. We then send you a estimate to see if it meets your price expectation.

Perform satellite assessment to determine sq/ft of property
Determine any issues with robotic mowing based off the inital assessment
Our team emails you an initial estimate

Confirm Estimate & On-Site Assessment

The customer confirms the estimate and wishes to proceed with an on-site assessment to determine eligibility of any services, including autonomous robotic mowing.

Customer replies to email saying they would like an on-site assessment
Team shows up to property to determine eligibility of the property for any services
Send email to customer to tell them the eligibility and final cost of services, typically they match the estimate.
The Customer signs a seasonal contract (7 months) for robotic mowing before instillation can begin

Robot Instillation

We send you date for the instillation to install your robot, and install it.

Our team sets a date with the customer for robot instillation
Sprinkler heads are flagged so they are not damaged during instillation
Special equipment is used to bury boundary wire along the property to guide the robot on areas it needs to mow
If the customer is home, after instillation we train the customer on basics of the robot
Our team will email the customer video links depending on their robot model to help train them further in using their robot

Adjustment Period

The customer watches areas in the lawn to determine areas the robot might get stuck on, or not get, so our team can make adjustments.

The robots are typically 80-90% autonomous during the first few weeks to a month
The customer assists us by taking pictures, so our team can make any adjustments to have their robot up 95-100% automated
Our team and the customer work together on making any minor adjustments to help the robot to complete its mowing loop

Robot Mows Autonomously

Typically after a few weeks the customer gets familiar with the robot and the loop, and all minor adjustments get made, the robot tirelessly mows the yard.

All adjustments have been made
The customer becomes more familiar with the robot
The eco-friendly robot begins to mow the property hands free

Machine Mowers offers more services to the customer in ways of trimming, touch-ups, aeration, fertilizer, dethatching, and much more.

Robot mows around 95-99% of the yard, sometimes unable to get close to edges, like a traditional mower
The customer can get trimming services to get remaining areas and add that extra special touch to make their yard look nearly perfect
Machine Mowers offers many more services beyond mowing, but mowing acts as the foundation for great yard health

Enjoy More Time and a Cleaner Earth

Save hundreds of hours over the seasons while your mower works tirelessly in the hot summer sun, or the cool fall.

Enjoy the extra time you have to spend with your family and friends while your robot mows
The robot uses roughly $2-$5 in clean electric energy per month mowing your grass
Take pleasure in knowing the world is a greener place, instead of using gas mowers
Be satisfied in knowing that the noise pollution for you and your neighbors is significantly reduced

Where can I find a list of prices?

You can find the price list of the services we provide here on our website on the prices page. If the service you desire is not listed, call us. You’ll get a free quote and the answers to any other queries you may have about pricing or the services.

How can I schedule an appointment?

For robotic mowing you first need to fill out the information in our assessment form. Then we will do a satellite assessment of the property to give you a preliminary estimate of the cost of the services you want. Then after you agree to the initial estimate, we do and on-site assessment to determine challenge areas and eligibility of the property.

Is the robot safe for pets and kids?

Yes. The robot is safer than a traditional mower and will stop working if picked up or stuck on something. Most robots use three, double-sided, sharp razor blades to cut the grass. In many ways the robot cuts grass better than traditional gas powered or manual mowers.

Can it get past our fence gate and mow the back yard?

Gates can be somewhat tricky. We are working on ways to have the robot traverse through a gate system, but most times gates have to be left open during the times when the machine has to run.

How automated is the robot mower exactly?

Our goal is during the first few weeks is to monitor the robot to make sure it completes its loop. We want our robot friend to leave the docking station, go and do its job mowing, return safely back to the docking station, rest up, and charge, then leave to do it again.

During this adjustment period we might have to make tweeks to the boundary or guide wires to optimize our robot friend. Sometimes the robot might get stuck in the yard somewhere and have to be manually moved by the property owner back to its docking station to recharge. We ask the property owners to document this process so we can improve the robot during this adjustment period. During this adjustment period the robot should be about 95% automated, with 5% intervention by the property owner.

After this adjustment period our goal is 99-100% automation. Our end goal is that we don't want you even to know there is our robot friend on your property, he operates quietly, unnoticeable, leaving your grass cut with no intervention by you.

What size can the robots handle.

We use different robots for different properties. They can mow up to 1.3 acres or 57,000 sq/ft. Some owners can push the top line models to 2 acres, but this is outside the recommend specs.

Can we choose a certain time of day for the robot to run so we can ensure our pets are inside?

Yes, when we install the robot we will ask you about irrigation systems and pets. We can program the mower to run during specific times to avoid both of them. The robots are quiet enough they can even be set to run at night.

Can I adjust the cutting height.

Yes. We recommend a 3" cut, but you can go to 2.5". The reason for this cutting height is that we want the roots of the grass to go deeper to try to choke out weeds. Can I adjust the cutting height.

How much electricity does a robot mower use?

Typical robot will use 11kwh per month of energy or about $2 in energy per month.

How does rain affect the mower?

The robots have a rain sensor that delays the start time if they sense rain or sprinklers operating. They're fine to operate in the rain given their light weight, but we default to waiting. The robots are also capable of driving through standing water up to about 2 inches.

How can I get a quote?

We usually give final and fixed quotes over email after you sign up through our website. If you require something specific, however, we would prefer to organize a survey appointment for you.
How often should I get my lawn mowed?

Autonomous robotic mowing answers this question by mowing the best possible way. The concept comes straight out of nature - the principle of the grazing animal. The grass is cut a little and often. This is not only more efficient, the smaller clippings created by continual cutting is better for the grass too.

Can the robots cross sidewalks, driveways and rocky areas, and elevation?

We caulk the wire or bury it to allow to traverse across obstacles. Most robots can handle up to 28 degree elevations. We measure this when we go out to the job site if your property has hills. The next gen robots can handle even higher elevations. These are things we determine during the assessment.
